Frequently Asked Questions – Portraits

Is the clothing we wear important?

Yes. Clothing choice is very important. It can mean the difference between good photos and amazing photos. When we meet prior to your shoot, I discuss clothing options with you and recommend ways to ensure your images are stylish without risking becoming dated in years to come.

Where do you work?

I shoot on location in the greater Sydney area, and also work from my photographic studio in Holsworthy, near Liverpool.

When is the best time for pregnancy photography?

32 to 36 weeks is a good time. You want to be showing but still comfortable. Any earlier than that, your belly may not be prominent enough. Any later than 36 weeks, you may feel uncomfortable. Every pregnancy is different and I am happy to work with your preferred timings.

When is the best time to do newborn photography?

During the first 5 to 10 days – when baby is easy to pose and will generally sleep peacefully for most of the session, although we do take bookings for all ages. For older babies and toddlers, I work around your schedule of feed, play and sleep.

What happens if I need to cancel or postpone?

People get sick and circumstances change meaning that occasionally cancellations or postponements are unavoidable. Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Subject to availability, I am happy to reschedule to accommodate changes due to illness.

What is included in the $150 Custom Photographic Session fee?

A pre-shoot planning session to discuss your requirements and a $100 print credit to use towards purchasing prints, digital files or a collection.

Is there a minimum spend?

With separate pricing for your photo session and prints, you can purchase only the images you love – there’s no minimum order. I also offer a variety of print sizes, custom framing, portrait boxes and canvases. View pricing >

How long will it be until we see our photos?

Image previews are available within 2 weeks.

When do we view our images?

Generally we make a viewing appointment approximately 2 weeks after your session. I encourage you to bring your partner along so you can make the purchasing decision together. See them in person at my studio in a beautifully displayed slideshow set to music.

Do you shoot in a studio?

Most of my portrait sessions are held outdoors, using natural light. Whether your shoot is in my Sydney photography studio, natural surroundings or an urban setting, I create a relaxed environment where you feel at ease and confident to be yourself.

Newborn photography sessions can be held at my photography studio or in your own home. For more information, see baby photography.
